Johannes Tonio Kreusch studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum and at New York's Juilliard School of Music in classical guitar. Since his solo debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in 1996, he has toured as a soloist and chamber musician in many cities in Europe, the USA and Latin America.

Through its close collaboration with composers of our time, Kreusch created numerous new works for the guitar, which he has premiered at major festivals .

He often works with renowned musicians from the fields of classical and improvised music such as Markus Stockhausen or in a duo with tenor Anthony Dean Griffey.

Johannes Tonio Kreusch has produced many successful CD´s and radio recordings. His recordings not only include the standard repertoire (lute music of Johann Sebastian Bach to Villa -Lobos Etudes ) but also world-premiere recordings of contemporary music and his own compositions.

For his recordings and artistic work , he was awarded with numerous prizes. Thus the French newspaper Classica - Répertoire Music has named his CD recording of the Villa-Lobos Etudes for best classical CD of the month and described it as a "new reference recording since the legendary recordings by Narciso Yepes and Julian Bream " .

Johannes Tonio Kreusch teaches at the University of Munich , gives workshops and master classes at home and abroad , writes for international journals and is the artistic director of the International Guitar Festival in Hersbruck.
